History
The firm is the oldest continuously operating law firm in Wichita,
Kansas and one of the oldest firms in the State. It was founded in
1886, by R.R. Vermillion and William E. Stanley, who later was
elected governor of the State of Kansas, Earle Evans joined the firm
in 1897. Evans possessed outstanding legal skills and obtained
national recognition for the firm, serving as President of the
American Bar Association in 1933. The firm has represented many
national clients continuously since the turn of the century. The
firm has a staff of eight lawyers.

regional manufacturers, retailers, railroads, oil and gas producers
and insurance companies, as well as national and international
banking and investment companies. The firm serves many of these

Firm Activities
Firm members participate in local and state
professional and civic activities, including active memberships on
local bar committees and mediation panels. All lawyers belong to the
Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations. Individual memberships are
maintained in the American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and National Employment
Lawyers Association.
